An exciting journey in the Viking Spirit. From Norway to Iceland and on to Greenland’s western coastline, where seals and small whales playing in the vast fjords. Eirik Raude sails in an open boat from Iceland and west towards unknown shores. We take the same trip, of course, with a comfort level that far surpasses Viking ships tough struggle – but theview is the same as the Eirik Raude time: icebergs and whales spray off Greenland
coasts and dramatic fjords.
Greenland offers some of the most spectacular and unspoiled scenery in the world. Greenland is the largest island and this frozen coastline has witnessed the creation of the most amazing species. Here, despite the struggle to survive the habitants have high regards and respect for the nature and the environment.
You will see the unique interaction between man and nature when sailing through a landscape, the Midnight North Country, which is rich in culture, history and spectacular wildlife. Our team also consists of locals who take us on an authentic experience in the real Greenland. We begin and end the exciting journey in Iceland’s charming capital Reykjavik. Here we are in the Viking waters! On the way north we visit Nuuk, Greenland’s capital, before continuing to the communities of Sisimiut and Ilulissat, the Iceberg city. Here we experience the real Greenlandic culture and city life, hand in hand with the beautiful scenery with glaciers and icebergs, fjords and mountains. Gorgeous and intimate M / S Ocean Diamond is our frame for this trip and is an ice-strengthened hull with room for only 224 passengers along with outside cabins with private bath/toilet and plenty of space and outstanding service.
